A spot of happiness: the right place for your houseplant
Living in greenery needs to be skilful. There are one or two things you should bear in mind when beautifying your own home or giving plants as gifts so that they can flourish happily.
Indoor plants have different needs. Some feel at home in the sun, others love the shade and only want to be kept cool. Some enjoy "tough love", others want to be constantly looked after. We show you our favourites for every room climate.
Sun worshippers
Just as we like to lie in the sunny south, so do these houseplants. They are therefore preferably placed by a south-facing window so that they can soak up as much sun as possible. They only rarely need a little refreshment through watering.
Enjoying partial shade
These green friends don't want to choose one or the other. For example, they like to spend time on a windowsill that is not exposed to direct sunlight. Alternatively, they can also be placed on raised tables or plant pots that face the sun. The water supply should not be neglected for Rhipsalis and co.

Shade lovers

These candidates enjoy darkness and the occasional sip of water. Artificial plants in particular are open to dark corners and prefer to sit on dry land.
Tropical friends
Exotic plants like Gusmania Optima really like moisture. That's why it's best to place them in the bathroom, with or without a window. Partial shade and evening sun is good for them and, in addition to a little water here and there, they also benefit from the humidity in the bathroom.
