A good idea served up on a platter

Both sides of my bed have a side table, even though I live alone.

When you're single, you don't necessarily need to share or have two of everything. This is particularly true of the wardrobe, the bathroom and even the bedside table. Usually, a couple will need two bedside tables, one to the left of the bed and one to the right. As I'm alone at home, a side table on the left-hand side where I lie is more than enough for me. But sometimes I have visitors and swap my bed for the sofa. I've come up with a solution to ensure that the guest on the right doesn't suffer. The result? You no longer get your feet tangled up in objects - such as smartphones or keys - lying around on the floor. I'm well aware that this is a detail, but it's nicer this way and there's something in it for everyone.

A refined shelf

After a few wanderings through the Galaxus range, I came across 'Tray' by Bloomingville, a cleverly designed tray that supplants an imposing table and can be placed wherever you like, between the mattress and the bed base, for example. What's in it for you? It's practical, saves floor space and blends in perfectly with my interior decor, which, when you look at it, betrays my weakness for round, brass objects. Or why not use it in the living room to hold the remote control or a drink? "Tray" is a little gem that my guests and I don't want to be without.

This is the kind of object that comes straight from Scandinavia, from Ikast, Denmark, to be exact. With its tray, the Bloomingville brand has managed to combine aesthetics and function. As far as I'm aware, there is currently no other sober object with such marked versatility. Thanks to an integrated hinge system, it can be folded up and wedged into a slot at will, provided you have one, of course.
