5 stylish sneakers under 100 francs

From little-known gems to all-time classics, it really is possible to find beautiful sneakers without three-figure price tags. Here are five pairs that’ll elevate your look without breaking the bank.
Sneakers can easily cost a small fortune these days. Forking out a three-figure sum for a new pair has been the standard for a long time now. In fact, it’s not uncommon for sneakers to break the 200-franc mark. Thankfully though, there are cheaper alternatives out there. I’ve picked out five pairs from the Galaxus range that currently cost under 100 francs, but still look seriously good. Perfect if you’re looking to save a few pennies without compromising on style.
1. New Balance 373
The 373 is basically the younger sibling of the better-known 574. Its minimalist design and slim fit make it both contemporary and affordable. Priced between 80 and 100 francs at New Balance, it’s often available in stores for even less. A great choice for people looking for a slightly narrower dad sneaker.
2. Puma Palermo
The Palermo is essentially Puma’s cheaper, lesser-worn version of a retro sneaker like the Samba or Gazelle. On top of this, it’s available in a ton of interesting colours. Though it officially costs about 100 francs, it’s usually on offer for much less.

3. Adidas SL 72
Touted as the successor to the Samba, the SL 72 managed to outlast the hype it generated. In other words, you won’t exactly spot them on every foot. So far, it’s been spared the dangers of oversaturation. Although it actually fetches a retail price of 120 francs, the shoe is currently available on Galaxus in several colours for under 100 francs.
4. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star
Naturally, Chucks never completely disappeared – but this year, they’ve experienced a slight surge in popularity. From Instagram to the catwalk, these classic Converse sneakers are well and truly back in fashion. Despite their highly sought-after status, the standard Chucks rarely sell for more than 100 francs.

5. Gola Harrier
Gola sneakers are totally underrated. Fun fact: the English sports brand has been in the game since 1905. Its retro training shoe, the Harrier, costs a little over 100 francs if you buy it directly from the brand. However, you can usually find it on the market for less. Definitely an obscure, but pretty pick.
