In 1977, the artist VCJ illustrated two black-and-white posters to promote Bones Wheels. About a year later, Court focused on working on a new project that would transform the theme of Bones into the concept of a skateboard skeleton. To help Court make the image as realistic as possible, George purchased a life-sized skeleton from a medical supply store. Court named her Rosie. After several hours of propping and rigging, Rosie was frozen in the position of a skateboard skeleton. Court got to work. His piece, completed in late 1978, served as a Bones sticker and T-shirt graphic, the first illustration created under the new brand Powell Peralta. Originally released: 1979. Artist: Vernon Courtlandt Johnson. Features: Screen-printed logo T-shirt, large back graphic and small left chest graphic, screen-printed inner label, 5.5oz, 100% soft spun cotton jersey, preshrunk, standard fit for adults.
