In 1977, the artist VCJ illustrated two black-and-white posters to promote Bones Wheels. About a year later, Court focused on working on a new project that aimed to transform the theme of Bones into the concept of a skateboard skeleton. To help Court create the image as realistically as possible, George purchased a life-sized skeleton from a medical supply store. Court named it Rosie. After several hours of propping and rigging, Rosie was frozen in the position of a skateboard skeleton. Court got to work. His piece, completed in late 1978, served as a Bones sticker and T-shirt graphic, the first illustration created under the new brand Powell Peralta.
