Alpaca wool is beautifully soft, but it can shed fibers! For cleaning, we recommend hand washing and then laying flat to dry. During the first washes, small balls may form, which is not unusual. You can remove these with a garment brush with soft bristles by gently brushing the sweater in the direction of the fibers. Alternatively, you can use small scissors. To prevent fiber loss, you can place the garment in a plastic bag in the freezer for 2 hours or in the refrigerator overnight. The cold tightens the wool fibers and prevents pilling.
