Alpaca wool is beautifully soft, but it does shed fibers! For cleaning, we recommend hand washing and then laying flat to dry. Small pills may form during the first washes, which is not unusual. You can remove these with a garment brush with soft bristles by gently brushing the sweater in the direction of the fibers. Alternatively, you can also use small scissors. To prevent fiber loss, you can place the garment in a plastic bag in the freezer for 2 hours or overnight in the fridge. The cold tightens the wool fibers and prevents pilling.
