Material: 100% wool (merino sheep wool, controlled organic animal husbandry)
Care: Wool is chemically very similar to human hair. Therefore, like washing hair, it should be cleaned as gently as possible. Wool hardly absorbs dirt; it actually repels it. Thus, wool clothing rarely needs washing, and airing it out is usually sufficient. However, if wool items do need to be washed, hand washing in lukewarm water at a maximum of 30° C is recommended for untreated wool. Machine washing on a wool cycle with cold water and no spinning is also possible. Wool is extremely sensitive to alkalis and therefore to soap as well. For washing wool, use a non-alkaline wool detergent, such as the tried-and-true Disana wool shampoo. To prevent felting, wool should not be soaked, rubbed, wrung, or brushed. Simply press it lightly by hand. Drying in the sun, on a radiator, or in a tumble dryer is not allowed. Lay it flat to dry and shape it while damp.
