Product details
Psyllium seeds are the seeds of a species of plantain native to the desert areas of North Africa and Southwest Asia - Plantago afra. Psyllium seeds contain mucilage that swells in water. Swollen psyllium seeds stirred into a natural yogurt give the yogurt a creamy consistency. They fill the intestines and, according to experience, can facilitate bowel movements.
Dextrinized psyllium seeds have been rolled and thus broken up. The resulting heat and some moisture activate the enzymes in the psyllium. These convert the starch contained in the psyllium into sugar building blocks - "dextrins". Psyllium contains 10-30% mucilage. The dextrinized psyllium is only available from Sonnenkorn and comes from Austria.
