Sirocco Tea Tin Medium White Silver Needle Tin (55g)
White tea was reserved for emperors and high nobility in China due to its sublime quality. Mild bouquet and a unique jasmine flavour - a majestic pleasure.
White tea owes its name to the white, silky fluff that surrounds the young tea buds and is only two per cent fermented. This fermentation takes place naturally during the withering process. The highest quality variety "Yin Zhen" (silver needle) is one of the most sought-after and therefore most expensive white teas, for which only particularly young and aromatic shoots of the large white tea bush are picked. The harvest only takes place on two or three days a year when the climatic conditions are perfect. It must not be raining or windy, as this would damage the delicate tea. As soon as the flowers of the jasmine bush are available a few weeks later, they are carefully mixed into the tea by hand to flavour it. A few days later, the flowers are sorted out again by hand in an extremely labour-intensive process, leaving behind a wonderfully floral jasmine fragrance.
White Silver Needle is a highly sought-after tea in itself and is therefore even rarer from certified organic cultivation.
