Product details
Since 1956, for more than 50 years, there has been Rothaus Pils Tannenzäpfle. Its unusual name comes from its label on the 0.33 l bottle. The first Tannenzäpfle label featured a branch of a red fir tree with its corresponding cones. These cones gave the beer its name.
In the 1950s, it was uncommon to offer beer in such a small bottle. Beers typically came in 0.7 l bottles. Despite its unusual size, Tannenzäpfle quickly gained more and more fans.
Another distinctive feature of Tannenzäpfle is that it was the first beer from Rothaus to feature 'Biergit', the Black Forest girl with two beer glasses, on its label. Since then, 'Biergit' has become the unmistakable symbol for all beers from the Rothaus brewery.
