Abbey beers – Bière d'Abbaye – originated in Benedictine and Trappist monasteries, primarily for the fasting period. The Benedictine rule states: "Drinking does not break the fast...". It was only natural to brew a few particularly strong beers for Lent.

Tripel Blonde is the most elegant and balanced representative of the abbey beers. To keep it light and mild, special care is required during the malting process. It is flavored with white candy sugar, bitter orange peel, and grains of paradise – seeds from an Indonesian orchid with a citrus-pepper note. A generous portion of aromatic hops, added in the tank, rounds off the bouquet.
