A beer with a unique flavor. Orval beer, true to its bitter and fruity character, is a true reference in the highly popular world of authentic Trappist beers. Orval beer is distinguished by its top fermentation process and a long maturation period, which gives it its complex, fruity, yet rounded and bitter taste. Since 1931, it has owed its incomparable flavor to the quality of its water, hops, and yeast. The recipe is based on a very specific variety of highly aromatic hop types that trace back to the first brewers of Orval from Bavaria. Its English dry-hopped addition provides a diverse aroma while maintaining the bitter note. The different fermentation times – a combined fermentation with the original yeast and wild yeast, followed by bottle conditioning – require significant maturation time and numerous quality controls. A true Trappist beer.
