Product details
The Matilde Oscura is a blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Pennsylvanian fillers, held together by an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and presented with a robust San Andreas wrapper. It reveals astonishing notes of both black and white pepper, balanced by a sweetness. Throughout the experience, wood flavors and hints of coffee emerge. The taste seems to open up with each puff, evolving into new layers of complexity. This cigar is thus an exciting journey through diverse flavors.
Matilde was founded in 1876 in Santiago de los Caballeros and was one of the first tobacco companies in the Dominican Republic. However, the operation was discontinued in the early 1900s. In 2014, the brand was revived by the Seijas family. Their first line, the Matilde Renacer, immediately made it into the Top 25 Cigars of 2014 and was awarded 92 points.
