Matilde Oscura Robusto

The Matilde Oscura is a blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Pennsylvanian filler, held together by an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and presented with a robust San Andreas wrapper. It offers remarkable notes of both black and white pepper with a balanced sweetness. As the experience unfolds, wood and some coffee flavors emerge. The taste seemingly opens up with each puff, developing into new layers of complexity. This cigar is thus an exciting journey through different flavor profiles.

Matilde is one of the oldest cigar brands in the Dominican Republic. It was founded in 1876 in Santiago de los Caballeros and was one of the first tobacco companies in the Dominican Republic. However, the operation was discontinued in the early 1900s. In 2014, the brand was revived by the Seijas family. Their first line, the Matilde Renacer, immediately made it into the Top 25 Cigars of 2014 and was awarded 92 points.
