Product details
It doesn't get much more unusual - or brilliant - than this. Philippe Guigal, a highly talented oenologist, runs the winery founded by his grandfather Etienne in 1946 in the Côtes du Rhône. Everything here is extraordinary: the location on steep slopes with their carved terraces and the barren soils from which the vines draw water from depths of up to 15 meters. The Guigals always extract the maximum from the grape material and terroir, which is reflected in the quality of their small quantities. The aging takes place in barrels from their own cooperage. They achieve top prices for these wines: vineyard wines like La Mouline and La Turque are sold for up to 700 Swiss francs. Guigal is the winery with the most wines awarded 100 points by Robert Parker.

Instructions for use | This well-balanced, fruity, full-bodied wine has a dark black-red colour with violet reflections. Its quite powerful bouquet is dominated by aromas of cherry, sour cherry and ripe wild berries, with notes of prune, clove and pepper. On the palate, it is dry and fresh, with a round, harmonious and quite soft structure and precise berry fruit on the finish, along with a hint of coffee and earthy and mineral notes. |
