Product details
Since the 1940s, the Sonnenberg family has used the 183-hectare Diemersfontein estate as a holiday and weekend retreat, and since the early 1970s, vines have also been grown in Diemersfontein. However, it wasn't until 2001 that the current owner, David Sonnenberg, established a winery and began producing quality wines. With great success: Diemersfontein wines were immediately recognized and praised internationally, with the very first vintage winning the Paul Sauer Trophy for the best wood-aged Pinotage at the South African Young Wine Show. Today, Diemersfontein wines are present worldwide and regularly receive high ratings at wine competitions and in specialized magazines. The estate itself also serves as a guesthouse for holiday travelers.

Instructions for use | A full-bodied, persistent, spicy wine, black-red in colour with a hint of violet reflections and a very intense, multi-layered bouquet of dried plum, some vegetal notes and vanilla spice as well as blackberry aromas. It is beautifully fresh on the palate, wonderfully aromatic, with soft tannins and a harmonious, full-bodied structure. |
