Château Pape-Clément Pape Clément Rouge

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. Extremely dark purple with hints of lilac and violet. Intensely dark berry notes with many smoky nuances, licorice, dark noble woods, Guinness beer malt, and black currant on the initial nose. After a few minutes, a subtle hint of cinnamon emerges, along with blueberry puree and Tahitian vanilla bean. The aromatic profile is introspective and remains somewhat reserved, even though the wine also displays lavish characteristics. It has a balanced, regal astringency, creamy extract with massive but not overwhelming concentration, remaining blueberry-like and possessing an inexplicable fascination. 20/20 2024 – 2048.
