Catena Zapata Nicolás

Nicolás Catena Zapata brought world fame to Argentine wine with his unparalleled work. In 2009, he was the first South American to be awarded the prestigious title "Decanter Man of the Year". His vineyards are located in Mendoza, near Lujan de Cuyo, a spectacular geographical area at an altitude of over 1000 metres above sea level, nestled at the foot of the imposing Andes. His great Malbecs and Cabernet Sauvignons all have enormous ageing potential. What Nicolás began in 1960 with full conviction, namely that Argentina is capable of world-class wines, is successfully continued today by his daughter Laura Catena.
