As the name suggests, Brewdog Punk IPA is an India Pale Ale. The origins of IPAs are almost legendary. To preserve the beer during the long journey from England and Scotland to the Indian colonies in the 19th century, it had to be brewed with a high alcohol and hop content; otherwise, it would spoil during the voyage. Brewdog Punk IPA is born out of this tradition. When pouring the beer into a glass, one immediately notices its clear amber-like color. The aroma hints at the fruitiness of this beer. Upon tasting, a slight sweetness can be detected, supported by fruity notes. The flavors are predominantly characterized by mango and peach. The typical bitterness of India Pale Ales is quite soft in Punk IPA and not too overpowering, making it very enjoyable. Therefore, Brewdog Punk IPA is also excellent for IPA newcomers.
