The oil is extracted from the kernels of the sweet almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis). It contains a particularly high proportion of monounsaturated fatty acids (60–80% oleic acid) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (20–30% linoleic acid).
Almond oil has nourishing, moisturizing, smoothing, and calming properties.
