The big dream

The young teacher Konrad Koch (Daniel Brühl) is assigned to teach English at a prestigious German high school in 1874. To inspire his students with the foreign language, he employs unconventional methods and introduces them to a peculiar sport he knows from England: football. However, Koch's unorthodox approach soon earns him enemies, including his colleagues who rely solely on Prussian discipline and obedience, as well as influential parents and dignitaries in the city. They want to get rid of Koch at any cost – but now the students are taking the initiative...
