The big dream

The young teacher Konrad Koch (Daniel Brühl) was to teach English in a time-honoured German grammar school in 1874. In order to get the pupils excited about the foreign language, he uses unusual means and introduces them to a strange sport that he knows from England: football. But with his unconventional manner, Koch soon made enemies: his colleagues, who relied solely on Prussian drill and obedience, as well as influential parents and dignitaries of the city. They want to get rid of Koch at all costs - but now the students are taking the initiative...
