Tamiya X-Acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are ideal for brush painting or application with airbrush spray equipment. These paints can be used on polystyrene, ABS, styrene resins, expanded polystyrene, wood, and all common modeling plastics. For better adhesion, we recommend priming the respective material beforehand. The paint provides good coverage, flows smoothly, and is easy to mix. Before curing, the paint can be washed away with regular water. Colors designated with "X" have a glossy finish, while those marked "XF" are matte.

For use with airbrush spray equipment (depending on the nozzle used, 0.25 – 0.50 mm), the X colors should be thinned with Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner. The X colors can also be thinned with Tamiya Lacquer Thinner. This allows for faster drying results and a harder surface finish. By adding Tamiya Paint Retarder, you can achieve a smoother paint surface after drying (max mixing ratio 1:10).
