Tamiya 1/72 Grumman F-14 D Tomcat

Tamiya presents the first F-14D Tomcat as a 1:72 scale model kit. This kit impresses with its numerous details and ease of assembly. The Tomcat was in service from the early 1970s until 2006. Initially, it served for fleet defense, but in the 1990s, its role expanded to include strike missions due to its enormous range. Later in the same decade, the addition of the LANTIRN targeting pod enabled long-range bombing with laser-guided munitions. The F-14D was the last variant to adopt the General Electric F110-GE-400 engines from its predecessor, the F-14B, and received significantly improved avionics. It was in service from 1992 and operated in the skies over Iraq and Afghanistan. The F-14D was finally retired from the US Navy in 2006.
