Naruto, Sakura, Yamato, and Sai are summoned by Tsunade to Hole to investigate a massacre that occurred there. The four quickly discover that Kabuto and his ruthless accomplices are responsible for the attack. On one hand, he wanted to seize the treasures stored there, but he also aimed to use the village's special water to enhance his Edo Tensei technique. Kabuto manages to trick Naruto and clone the Nine-Tails as well, with the intent of completely destroying the village. A battle ensues between the clone and Naruto, during which Naruto increasingly loses control over himself.
