In 50 BC, Asterix (voiced by Christian Clavier in the original / Milan Peschel in the German version), Obelix (Guillaume Briat / Charly Hübner), and Getafix set out to find a druid to whom Getafix can pass on the secret of the magic potion, as he wishes to retire. For a long time, he was able to climb the tall oaks effortlessly to pick mistletoe for his potion. One day, however, he falls from the tree, and Getafix is forced to take a step back. But while they search for a worthy successor, the wicked Heretix concocts a sinister plan. He also wants to get his hands on the recipe for the magic potion and teams up with the Romans for this purpose. Now, the women of the village must defend their home alone against the Roman invaders and protect the supplies of the magic potion.
