Humbrol No 53 Gunmetal Metallic

Application
A solvent based, fast drying paint designed for use on plastic model kits but can also be used on other surfaces. Matt, satin, gloss, metallic, metalcote and clear finishes are available (finish varies by colour).

Substrate
A variety of surfaces including most plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, sealed plaster, sealed hardboard and more (always test on a small test area to check suitability).

Coverage
One 14 ml can covers approximately 0.3 m², depending on the layer thickness.

Application
Apply directly from the can with a brush. Use with a suitable thinner such as Humbrol Enamel Thinners for the airbrush. Two thin coats are preferable to one thick coat. The usual dilution ratio is 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Note that Metalcote colours are intended for polishing when completely dry.

Drying time
Glossy: 1-2 hours
Matt & Satin: 20-40 minutes dust dry, up to 24 hours for hard dry
Metallics: hard dry in about 10 days. Drying times vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Recoatable: at least 6 hours (preferably overnight).

Cleaning:
Brushes: use Humbrol Enamel Thinners
Airbrush: rinse thoroughly with Humbrol Enamel Thinners. The product is permanent after drying.
