Humbrol No 220 Italian Red Gloss

Usage

A solvent-based, fast-drying paint designed for use on plastic model kits, but can also be used on other surfaces. Matte, satin, gloss, metallic, metal coat, and clear finishes are available (the finish varies depending on the color).

Substrate

A variety of surfaces, including most plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, sealed plaster, sealed hardboard, and more (always test a small area first to check suitability).

Coverage

A 14 ml can covers approximately 0.3 m², depending on the thickness of the application.

Application

Apply directly from the can with a brush. Use a suitable thinner like Humbrol Enamel Thinner in an airbrush. Two thin coats are better than one thick coat. The usual thinning ratio is 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Note that metal coat paints are designed to be polished after fully drying.

Drying Time

Gloss: 1-2 hours. Matte & Satin: 20-40 minutes to dust dry, up to 24 hours for hard dry. Metallics: hard dry in about 10 days. Drying times may vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Overcoating: at least 6 hours (preferably overnight).

Cleaning

Brushes: Use Humbrol Enamel Thinner. Airbrush: rinse thoroughly with Humbrol Enamel Thinner. The product is permanent after drying.
