Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Volume 2

"Hagane no Renkinjutsushi" (2009) is the second anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Hiromu Arakawa. This version retells the story of the Elric brothers and adheres much more closely to the manga source material than the first anime adaptation. The two brothers and alchemists, Edward and Alphonse Elric, made a disastrous mistake when they were young: when their attempt to perform a strictly forbidden transmutation fails, Edward loses a leg. His brother suffers an even worse fate. Edward can only save him by sacrificing his own arm in an equivalent exchange and binding Alphonse's soul to a suit of armor – his body seems to be lost.
