Burn after reading! After reading, destroy! This is essentially how the instructions for reading the memoirs of suspended CIA agent Osbourne Cox (John Malkovich) should read. However, fitness trainer Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand) and her handsome but somewhat dim-witted colleague Chad Feldheimer (Brad Pitt) certainly don’t think of that when they accidentally find a CD with the obviously sensitive manuscript in their club's locker room. The two smell a big business opportunity with the secret state affairs. However, no one could have guessed that the love affairs of the sexually active government official Harry Pfarrer (George Clooney) would hinder their blackmail attempts. Soon, the amateur blackmailers find themselves pursued by a whole host of various intelligence agencies. And then the Russians get involved...
