Yes, this stone is very versatile. Since it is a synthetic stone, it has a very good grip on the blade. The blue side is very good for basic sharpening as it is quite rough and can thus remove larger bumps. The white (beige) side is very fine and well suited for fine grinding and honing the blade. As an artificial stone, it is very durable!
