Product details
Whether in the garden, in agriculture and forestry, or on a construction site, when a sharp blade is essential and more power is needed, this set of splitting axe and splitting hammer from XPOtool is the optimal tool.
Both the splitting axe and the splitting hammer feature a blade made of carbon steel with a hardness of 42–50 HRC. The axe head weighs 1500 grams, allowing for clean work with minimal effort, while the hammer head weighs 3.6 kg. For necessary safety before or after using the axe, it is equipped with a special rubber protective lip that protects both the blade and the user.
The high-quality splitting axe has an 860 mm long fiberglass handle, while the splitting hammer has a 910 mm long handle. Each grip is rubberized for a secure hold, ensuring that nothing slips out of hand even with a lot of swing.
The splitting axe is commonly used for splitting small to medium-sized pieces of firewood. It has the classic axe shape and is relatively lightweight and flat. With a relatively long cutting edge and a large striking surface, the splitting axe glides through the wood fibers, making it suitable for processing long-fibered wood types such as spruce, pine, and fir.
When thicker or longer pieces of short-fibered hardwood need to be split, the splitting hammer comes into play. With its wedge-shaped head and heavy weight, it splits the wood pieces apart.
