Steinbach Filter Balls

The Steinbach filter balls are suitable for all commercially available sand filter systems and are made from 100% recyclable polyethylene. 700 g corresponds to an amount of 25 kg of filter sand (quartz sand). The polyethylene balls filter residues down to a size of 1.5 μm (sand is approximately 40 μm). 1 mm = 1000 µm.

Open the filter tank of the sand filter system. Remove the existing filter medium and clean the container. Fill the filter tank with the filter balls (amount depends on the model, see manual). Close the container and start the process as usual. Note: Since the filter balls have a very high dirt absorption capacity, dirt particles adhere very strongly within the filter balls. The pump performance in commercially available filter systems is often not sufficient to flush out the contamination. Therefore, we recommend washing the filter balls by hand; we advise against backwashing the filter system.
