The SPAX typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal hexagon. This shape increases the contact area of our T-STAR plus, allowing the T-STAR plus bits to fit optimally into the screw head. The best possible power transmission from the screwdriver to the screw through T-STAR plus enables quick work, significantly more efficiently than with any other drives. The screws with partial threads are excellent for fastening thin components such as particle boards, planks, or floorboards to thicker components like beams or posts. The short thread screws into the thick component, while the unthreaded shaft remains in the attachment. This creates maximum clamping pressure between the two. The unthreaded part should be at least as thick as the attachment. The term 4CUT refers to the square shape of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibers during insertion and create space for the screw's core diameter. The spreading pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced, preventing the wood from splitting near the edges. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, as the screw's core does not have to "squeeze" into the wood. The abbreviation A2 in our stainless steel screws comes from the steel alloy. Screws made of stainless steel A2 offer high protection against corrosion and medium strengths. Their resistance to seawater and acids is low. Therefore, they are used for fastening in outdoor areas far from the coast.
