Bearing series 302 tapered roller bearings feature conically shaped raceways in both the inner and outer rings, between which tapered rollers are arranged. The apexes of all conical surfaces converge at a common point on the bearing axis. Tapered roller bearings are therefore particularly suitable for accommodating combined (radial and simultaneously axial) loads. Due to their internal design, single row tapered roller bearings cannot be used alone but only in conjunction with a second bearing or as a bearing pair. Tapered roller bearings are generally not self-retaining. The inner ring with rollers and cage can be installed separately from the outer ring.
