SKF Tapered roller bearings

Tapered roller bearings have conical raceways in both the inner and outer rings, between which tapered rollers are arranged. The apexes of all conical surfaces meet at a common point on the bearing axis. Therefore, tapered roller bearings are particularly suitable for accommodating combined (radial and simultaneously axial) loads. Due to their internal design, single-row tapered roller bearings cannot be used alone, but only together with a second bearing or as a bearing pair. Tapered roller bearings are generally not self-retaining. The inner ring with rollers and cage can be installed separately from the outer ring.
