Product details
Ceramic grills (or Kamado grills) are made from ceramic. The term Kamado is derived from the Japanese word Mushikamado, which refers to a charcoal-fired ceramic container. A Kamado grill is designed to allow you to grill and smoke at both low and high temperatures. It combines the functions of a smoker grill in a smaller, compact design. The thick ceramic walls retain heat exceptionally well, enabling efficient fuel consumption. Airflow is regulated similarly to a kettle grill, allowing for precise temperature control. The airflow and thus the temperature can be adjusted remarkably accurately. Fresh air enters through a vent at the bottom, while exhaust air is released through a vent in the lid. Even with very little charcoal, the temperature in the Saffire ceramic grill can be maintained consistently for several hours because the ceramic shell insulates and retains heat so effectively. The limited air circulation prevents the grilling food from drying out.
