Spathiphyllum (monocot), better known as the peace lily are famous for their ability to remove pollutants from the air. Monocots form a dense clump of large, upright, glossy evergreen leaves with gently drooping tips, making them a beautiful houseplant all year round. The houseplant is suitable for dark and shady locations. In spring and early summer, the elegant white umbels appear on slender stems above the foliage. Care
The monocot needs more water than other houseplants. It is therefore recommended to water the plant twice a week in summer and once a week in winter. A lack of water can be recognised by the fact that the leaves of the Spathiphyllum begin to droop. In addition, the plant should not be placed in full sun; it prefers a shady spot. Another important aspect is to remove the faded flowers as soon as they have bloomed, so that the plant can put its energy into forming new leaves and flowers.
