Product details
Plumbago auriculata is also known as 'Men's Loyalty'. This plant is well suited for pots, but can also thrive outdoors if protected from light frost. Plumbago is a climbing plant that blooms for a long period. It produces an overwhelming amount of flowers in various shades of blue that develop at the ends of elegantly curved stems. The flowering period lasts from late May to September. Plumbago is a fantastic plant for terraces and courtyards and can also create a beautiful effect in a rock garden or flower beds. It is deciduous and requires some support for climbing. In a pot, it can reach a maximum height of 150 cm, while in the ground it can grow up to 3 meters tall, provided there is no severe frost. If desired, the plant can be heavily pruned starting in October.
Care
Plumbago can thrive in full sun but also does well in partial shade. Additionally, the plant enjoys water. The leaves are a very bright green. When they turn yellow, it indicates that the plant needs more water and/or nutrients. Plumbago is not very frost-resistant. When frost is expected, the plant should be brought indoors. It can withstand temperatures as low as 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. Starting in October, the plant can be heavily pruned.
