Product details
The Phoenix Canariensis, best known as the Canary Island Date Palm, originates from the Canary Islands. There are many different species of Phoenix, with Canariensis being the most well-known and commonly found. The Phoenix Canariensis can now be found in any tropical climate, but in Spain and Italy, these palms are often used as planting material along public roads or planted as ornamental plants. In a tropical climate, this palm can grow up to 18 meters tall, and its leaves can reach lengths of 5 to 6 meters.
Care
The Phoenix Canariensis prefers a sunny location (full sun is not a problem) and very well-draining soil. Water daily during dry springs and/or hot, dry summers. Always keep the palm in well-draining soil and allow excess water to drain directly from the pot. It is recommended to fertilize the palm once a year with concentrated or liquid plant fertilizer. The Phoenix Canariensis is a strong root producer and can be planted in the ground or in a pot. If using an ornamental pot, ensure that the plant has enough space. The plant is moderately frost-resistant and can tolerate temperatures down to -5 degrees Celsius.
Size
The plants have a height of 50-60 cm at delivery, measured including the cultivation pot. The plants are delivered in a cultivation pot with a diameter of 15 cm.
