Product details
The olive tree, officially Olea Europaea, is the oldest known cultivated tree in history. With their silvery foliage, gnarled trunks and fragrant clusters of white flowers in spring, these striking trees are a beautiful eye-catcher in the garden at any time of year. It is a beautiful evergreen tree that adds a Mediterranean flavour to your garden or balcony. Olive trees are very hardy, which makes them good for colder areas. And of course, the tree also produces real olives.
Care
Olive trees are good for any garden. The trees can be planted in pots and placed on the patio, or they can be planted in the ground. Olive trees prefer a sunny location and do not like wet feet. If you plant the tree in a pot, make sure that the bottom of the pot has holes so that excess water can drain away. Water the olea regularly in spring and summer. Pruning is not necessary at first, but is best done in early spring or autumn (around October). Before the olives grow, the olea blooms in spring with small creamy white and yellow flowers. Depending on the intended use, the olives can be harvested when they are still green or in late autumn when they are fully ripe.
Size
On delivery, the plants are 45-55 cm tall, measured including the cultivation pot. The plants are supplied in a growing pot with a diameter of 14 cm.
