Product details
Fargesia Red Dragon, also known as Red Dragon Bamboo, is a beautiful bamboo species with bright red stems and fresh green leaves. This exclusive and non-invasive Fargesia is a real eye-catcher in the garden. This bamboo variety is a non-sprawling species, which means that it does not spread aggressively and does not overgrow the surrounding areas. The name 'Red Dragon' is derived from the characteristic red colour of its stems. This bright, deep red colour gradually fades to a more subtle colour as the stems age. Fargesia Red Dragon is also very hardy down to -20 degrees Celsius and is evergreen. The plant has a compact growth habit and reaches a height of around 2 to 3 metres, making it perfect as a hedge, screen or specimen plant.
Care
Fargesia Red Dragon is a bushy bamboo that is suitable for all soil types. Red Dragon' thrives well in partial shade to full sun and is a relatively low-maintenance plant. Its maximum height is around 300 cm. The plant needs sufficient water, especially in summer, and prefers a well-drained soil. Pruning is not necessary, but is permitted in order to maintain the desired shape and height.
