This bamboo variety belongs to the non-spreading types, meaning it does not spread aggressively and does not overrun surrounding areas. The name 'Red Dragon' is derived from the characteristic red color of its stems. This vibrant, deep red shade gradually fades to a more subdued color as the stems age. Fargesia Red Dragon is also very frost-resistant down to -20 degrees Celsius and is evergreen. Fargesia Red Dragon is a bushy bamboo suitable for all soil types. 'Red Dragon' thrives well in partial shade to full sun and is a relatively low-maintenance plant.
