KNIPEX CoBolt® XL is designed for powerful cutting of larger cross-sections and very hard materials. It features a two-hand operation for maximum cutting force and offers a 60% reduction in effort compared to conventional power side cutters. The special joint design allows for a 40-fold increase in hand strength. Beneath the joint, there is a gripping area for grasping and pulling wires with a diameter of 1.0 mm. The induction-hardened precision cutting edges have a hardness of about 64 HRC. The cutting edges are designed with a recess to facilitate cutting larger cross-sections by providing better leverage near the pivot point.

Cutting values for medium-hard wires (diameter): 6.0 mm.
Cutting values for hard wires (diameter): 4.3 mm.
Cutting values for piano wires (diameter): 4.2 mm.

Certain models feature an additional recess to facilitate cutting thicker wires, such as those used in suspended ceilings. Some variants have a 20° angled head, a single-sided tab, and side cutting for flush cutting, as well as improved cutting geometry and a gripping area.
