The original Philips claw disc has proven itself in practice thousands of times. Specifically designed for the hoof care of cattle, the claw disc impresses primarily with its extremely long lifespan.
The configuration indicates how densely or widely the carbide pieces are distributed on the claw disc. The advantage of a wide configuration is that hoof shavings cannot easily get stuck between the carbide pieces, thus preventing the disc from becoming dirty quickly. This allows for significantly more hoof treatments before the claw disc needs to be cleaned. In contrast, a dense configuration is recommended for very hard hooves, which is especially the case with frequent grazing of cattle.
For experienced users and hoof trimmers, we recommend the double-sided versions. Different grit and configuration on the front and back allow for optimal hoof care.
Another advantage of the original Philips claw disc is the so-called Vibra-Stop (rubber backing on the rear), which rests against the angle grinder when the claw disc is inserted. This results in a smooth, low-vibration rotation of the claw disc.
