Gränsfors Carpenter's axe

The carpenter's axe from Gränsfors features a long, thin, straight blade with a straight, slanted grind, a narrower neck, and a straight handle. The forged inward slope from the lower end to the base of the head allows you to hold the axe almost directly above the center of the blade. This makes it particularly well-suited for working with dry wood, carving, or any other tasks that require special precision. The shape of the blade guard is designed to cover the edge and the upper part of the neck. When you transport the axe in your backpack, it prevents the axe head from cutting into the bag. An axe is only as good as its blacksmith - all axes made by Gränsfors Bruk are hand-forged. The steel used comes from Ovako and is sourced exclusively from recycled scrap metal. The steel has been specially developed for creating the perfect axe head. It is neither too hard, too soft, nor too flexible.
