The soil moisture sensor takes the moisture of the soil into account during automatic irrigation. Irrigation will not start, or an ongoing irrigation will be interrupted, when the soil is sufficiently moist – this helps to save water. In conjunction with the irrigation computers MasterControl solar, MasterControl, and MultiControl, purely sensor-controlled irrigation is even possible. The soil moisture sensor is simply inserted into the ground next to the plants and electronically, continuously, and reliably measures the temperature differences in the soil. You can set the desired moisture level using a rotary knob. The current soil moisture can be read. The soil moisture sensor comes with a 5 m connection cable. Two 1.5 V alkaline batteries are required for operation (not included). These provide reliable measurement results for about a year. A low battery status is indicated. The soil moisture sensor can be connected to the following products: Gardena irrigation computer EasyControl, FlexControl, SelectControl, Gardena irrigation timer T 1030 card, MultiControl, MultiControl duo, MasterControl, MasterControl solar, irrigation controls 4040 modular, 4030, and 6030, control unit, and balcony watering system.
