Even the ancient Vikings achieved remarkable success with a powerful axe. So why should one seek a completely new concept when developing a new axe? Designer Elmar Roush had the same thought when working on the design of the CRKT Freyr Axe: instead of a new, modern shape, he opted for the typical long blade that was also found on Viking axes. After all, there’s no need to reinvent a concept that has proven itself over thousands of years. The axe head of the Freyr Axe is made from particularly robust 1055 carbon steel, which undergoes an elaborate surface treatment. The handle is crafted from high-quality Tennessee Hickory premium wood. The result is an impressive piece of solid craftsmanship that no true craftsman should miss.
