Kusintha is a support project aimed at bringing about change in some of the poorest countries in the world, including Malawi, where "Kusintha" means "change" in the local language Chichewa. The project was initiated in 2018 by Christian Bitz and Lisette Rützou. Kusintha supports important initiatives such as establishing local wells with clean drinking water and providing access to kindergartens and schools. A shorter distance to the well saves time and gives women better opportunities to work and children the chance to attend school. The Kusintha collection consists of products made from conventional glass and partially from recycled glass in beautiful colors that match BITZ stoneware. A portion of the proceeds from each sale is donated to the Kusintha project.
